Ordnance Survey Grid Reference:
SD 51738 21771
Imperial War Museum Memorial Database - Ref: 42578

NB: Location of the memorial according to the IWM website is in a housing estate to the rear of the church. This needs to be updated (2 May 2017)

This memorial is situated in the churchyard of St.James and takes the form of a wheel cross on a tapering shaft, atop a rough hewn plinth that contains the names of the men of the parish. It is surrounded on all four sides by a privet hedge, with roses at the entrance.  This takes the form of a small memorial garden. The cross has the dedication to the men of the parish, while the plinth on which it stands holds the names of 32 men over 12 rows.  The black lettering is affixed to the memorial.

SOCIAL
The WFA was formed in 1980 to maintain interest in the First World War (1914-1918). We work to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of all, from all sides, on all Fronts: on land, at sea, in the air and on the Home Front. The WFA is non-political and does not seek to glorify war.
