Preston & Central Lancashire Western Front Association (WFA)
Welcome to the website of the Preston & Central Lancashire branch of the Western Front Association (WFA). The site is divided into five main sections. The ABOUT section tells how the branch rose out of the South Ribble in the Great War project. The MEMORIALS section began life as a survey of the South Ribble War Memorials but has expanded to include memorials and places further afield. Perhaps the biggest proportion of the site is the ROLL OF HONOUR section. This contains more detail on the 700 plus men on the South Ribble WW1 Memorial this branch found and researched. Finally, PROJECTS & ARTICLES will give you news on our current and past projects and articles written or transcribed by members of the branch. Our email and social media contacts can be found at the foot of every page.

The WFA was formed in 1980 to maintain interest in the First World War (1914-1918). We work to perpetuate the memory, courage and comradeship of all, from all sides, on all Fronts: on land, at sea, in the air and on the Home Front. The WFA is non-political and does not seek to glorify war.
