Trinity Methodist Church, Gregson Lane, Hoghton, PR5 0ED Ordnance Survey Grid Reference 1 - SD 59413 26410 (Present Loc.) Ordnance Survey Grid Reference 2 - SD 57829 27284 (Original Loc.) IWM War Memorials Register - 42471 War Memorials Online - Not on site The memorial is a framed brass plaque that now hangs at Trinity Methodist Church in Hoghton. While this location is not within the boundaries of South Ribble (the borough boundary runs alongside), the original location of the plaque was in the methodist church on Blackburn Road, Higher Walton. This memorial is in good order and is obviously looked after well by the staff at Trinity.
The memorial contains the names of 23 men who served and 7 who died 'THROUGH HONOUR'S GATE TO GLORY'. There are the names of 10 men who died in the Second World War, one of whom died while a prisoner of war in the far east. Audit made 4 February 2014. HIGHER WALTON
