His actual surname is WRIGLEY and his mother was Alice's sister, Lucy. Both Alice and Lucy were domestic servants and it would seem Lucy was made pregnant by a an unknown man (whose name is not on the baptismal register) which necessitated Alice taking him on. Lucy was still in service in 1911. All military records found indicate that he served under the surname ALLISON. Born in PRESTON and lived in BAMBER BRIDGE. ![]()

Newspaper reports place his address in Leyland at the time of his death, but he also lived at 4 Sephton Street, Lostock Hall at the time of his marriage. His brother Reginald Andrew John Berry served in the Royal Garrison Artillery. Another brother Lionel qualified as a pilot 10/08/1915 and was with Royal Flying Corps.
